The Skyscraper

This is one of Viktoriya’s favorite projects, an apartment in one of the Seven Sisters, which brought her many victories at various contests and was filmed by the British TV. Students of the University of Vienna’s Architectural Department were shown this apartment a model of decorating art. The film director Sergei Solovyov shot his movie "Classmates" in this interior. The project became Viktoriya’s favorite one partly because she had been creating the apartment for herself. The redecorating process was more like an archaeological excavation, and finding a particular item, Viktoriya felt extremely happy to receive a gift from the past. For example, in the rooms one can see the first layers of paint applied on the walls a few decades ago. Viktoriya decided to paint the walls in approximately the same colors. There was nothing special to invent, because the apartment was full of authentic artifacts: doors, flooring, moldings ... It was on this basis that the flat was created - Viktoriya only focuses on these ghosts of the past, revealing their beauty. She even made the wiring uncovered. The same happened to the ceiling. Removing the first layers of plaster, Viktoriya saw a painting that she did not have the heart to renew. Viktoriya chose not to do any rearrangement, she just got rid of the the corridor and connected it to the total area of the living room and bathroom. Therefore, niches appeared. Victoria came up with the idea to cut the usual thin glass into a number of long rectangles, and, thanks to the layering of a plurality of glass layers on one another, the niche turned into conductors of daylight. These conductors were like layers of water, allowing the natural light. The passage from the living room to the guest room was decorated with a metal door, set on rails. The door was moved on large iron wheels. With the help of these industrial parts, Viktoriya created a contrast with the historical luxury that used to reign in the apartment. Viktoriya bought the glass door handle at a flea market in Izmailovo, it is dated 1912. To illuminate the apartment, Viktoriya decided to turn to modern technology and chose the "acutest" brands in the world of design. A few words should be said about the many doors of the apartment. Viktoriya painted them black and decorated them with pieces of linen inserted between the panes. As for the furniture, it was absolutely simple silhouettes were detectable under the white cotton capes.
