Arkhangelskoye

This house facing the woods, was built for about five years because most of the items and constructions had been made to order in Aleksey Kozyr’s architectural studio. The exceptions were the only the furniture by leading brands Minotti, Maxalto, Meridiani, Flexform, Moooi, and lamps. Home owners prefer strict and laconic lines, so the house is made in the "Modern Art Deco" style. Among the materials that were used in this project, there were various natural stones - Indian slate, marble of different types. A very rare kind of African wood bibolo was used for the floors, each floorboard of solid wood was three meters in length and about 80 cm in width. The colonnuns that perform the lighting function, are made of onyx.
"The architects, the interior designer and the customer found a common language, even came to the conclusion that the façade’s appearance depends on the arrangement of furniture. They started from the inside, made the electrician plan match the furniture, did all for the owners, editing the architectural design. A person should feel comfortable. The interior is truly functional. There is not a single empty space here, not a corridor. Even the gallery of the third floor, leading into the rooms, was turned into a library ............. Onyx and marble, bibolo and makore wood, collectible silk wall paper, expensive textures, a sign of genuine art deco, filled the volume. " "Interior plus Design, October 2008.
The Phaidon Publishing House included this home in the catalogue "World’s best houses."
